The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) maintains this website.

The use of www.ag-incentives.org or any of its pages (collectively the “Ag-Incentives Website”) is governed by the terms of use found on this page (the “Terms of Use”). By accessing the Ag-Incentives Website and using any content found therein, you (the “User”) acknowledge that you have fully read and understood, and agree to be bound by, these Terms of Use. You also acknowledge that you have fully read and understood the Ag-Incentives Privacy Policy and agree to its terms. These Terms of Use, as well as the Ag-Incentives Privacy Policy, may be updated from time to time at the discretion of the Ag-Incentives Consortium.

I. Use of Material

The members of the Ag-Incentives Consortium—IFPRI, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the World Bank—encourage the use of their data, publications and multimedia products (sound, image, software, etc.) presented on the Ag-Incentives Website (collectively, the "Material"). Unless otherwise stated, all Material on the Ag-Incentives Website is the intellectual property of one or more members of the Ag-Incentives Consortium and protected by copyright or other similar rights.

No Association

The User may neither represent nor imply that the Ag-Incentives Consortium, or any of its members, have participated in, approved, endorsed or otherwise supported his or her use or reproduction of the Material. The User may not claim any affiliation with the Ag-Incentives Consortium or any of its members. For information about use of the Ag-Incentives name and logo, please see Section IV below.

a. Material Governed by Specific Terms and Conditions

Certain Material found on the Ag-Incentives Website is governed by specific terms and conditions, rather than the general Terms of Use found on this page. The Ag-Incentives Consortium will use its best efforts to indicate where this is the case. With respect to Data, this will take the form of a notification in the Data’s source information.

b. Text and Multimedia Products

Permitted Use

You may use the content contained in Ag-Incentives publications and webpages, without modification, for non-commercial purposes, provided you cite the copyright and title.

Except as provided otherwise in these Terms of Use, you must receive permission from the Ag-Incentives Consortium for all other uses of Ag-Incentives Material (including, without limitation, commercial use and translation rights). You should submit such requests to info@ag-incentives.org.

If you have any questions about citing or re-using the content on the Ag-Incentives Website, please contact ifpri-copyright@cgiar.org and info@ag-incentives.org.

c. Data

The Ag-Incentives Consortium has placed data (the ‘Data’) on the Ag-Incentives Website free for the use and consultation by the public.

By using the Ag-Incentives Website and the Data contained therein (whether accessed directly or through an application programming interface), you acknowledge your acceptance of the Terms of Use found on this page.

  1. As stated in Section I(a) above, Data may be subject to restrictions beyond the scope of these Terms of Use, either because specific terms and conditions apply to those Data or because third parties, or Ag-Incentives consortium members, may have ownership interests in some of the Data. It is your responsibility to verify the Data’s source information (under ‘source’)  to determine whether that Data is fully or partially owned by third parties, whether additional restrictions may apply, and to contact the owner of the Data before incorporating it in your work in order to secure the necessary permissions. The Ag-Incentives Consortium in no way represents or warrants that it or any of its members owns or controls all rights in all Data, and neither the Ag-Incentives Consortium nor its individual members will be liable to any User for any claims brought against the User by third parties in connection with the use of any Data. Neither the Ag-Incentives Consortium nor its individual members will be liable for any loss or damage arising from, or directly or indirectly connected to, the use of, reference to, or reliance on any information contained in the Ag-Incentives Website, including, but not limited to, any liability arising from any intentional or negligent misuse, errors, disclosure, undue transfer, loss or destruction of data that may occur.

II. Communication and Messaging Facilities

You shall not do any of the following in any messaging or communication facilities that may be found on the Ag-Incentives Website:

  • defame, abuse, harass, threaten or otherwise violate the legal rights of others;
  • publish, post, distribute or disseminate any defamatory, infringing, obscene, indecent or unlawful material;
  • upload or attach files that contain software or other material protected by intellectual property laws unless the User owns or controls the rights thereto or has received all necessary permissions;
  • upload or attach files that contain viruses, corrupted files, or any other similar software or programs that may damage the operation of another's computer;
  • upload, e-mail, transmit or otherwise make available unsolicited advertising of any goods or services, or conduct or forward surveys, contests, "spam" or chain letters; etc.

The Ag-Incentives Consortium reserves the right to deny, at its sole discretion, any User’s IP address access to the Ag-Incentives Website or any portion thereof without notice.

You specifically acknowledge and agree that the Ag-Incentives Consortium is not liable for any conduct of any other User, including, but not limited to, the types of conduct listed above.

III. Linking to the Ag-Incentives Website

In order to promote its work, and because linking is an essential aspect of the Internet, the Ag-Incentives Consortium encourages a User who maintains an external website to include hyperlinks to the Ag-Incentives Website on that external site without having to ask prior permission, under the following conditions:

These hyperlinks must not:

  • infringe the rights of the Ag-Incentives Consortium or any of its members, in particular relating to their names, logos, acronyms and intellectual property rights;
  • be used for the promotion of an organization or company, or of any commercial products or services.

Consequently,

  • if you link to the Ag-Incentives Website, you must refrain from creating frames, or using other visual altering tools, around the Ag-Incentives Website;
  • once a link to the Ag-Incentives Website has been created, it should be tested to ensure that it works and meets the above conditions. We would then appreciate being notified via  info@ag-incentives.org.

If you have further questions about linking to the Ag-Incentives Website, please feel free to send us an e-mail at info@ag-incentives.org.

IV. Ag-Incentives Name and Logo

Linking and referring to the Ag-Incentives Consortium

The Ag-Incentives Consortium encourages you to use its logo when linking or referring to the Consortium. To receive graphic files, please send your request to info@ag-incentives.org.

Only the most recent version of the Ag-Incentives logo should be used.

Ag-Incentives logo for authorship and endorsement

As stated in Section I above, you may not claim any affiliation with the Ag-Incentives Consortium or any of its members. If you wish to use the Ag-Incentives name, logo, or other identifying symbol in a way that implies endorsement, partnership or authorship, you must obtain our written permission and agreement on how the name, logo, or other identifying symbol will be used. Please send your request to  info@ag-incentives.org. If permission is granted, it is only granted for the specific usage requested; each new use requires a new request.

V. Disclaimers

INFORMATION ON THIS SITE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. The Ag-Incentives Consortium makes every effort to ensure, but does not guarantee, the accuracy or completeness of the information and Materials (including the Data) on the Ag-Incentives Website. Our goal is to keep this information timely and accurate. If errors are brought to our attention, we will try to correct them. Unless expressly stated otherwise, any opinions stated on this website are those of the various authors of the materials and are not necessarily representative of or endorsed by the International Food Policy Research Institute or any other organizations who are members of the Ag-Incentives Consortium.

The International Food Policy Research, on behalf of the Ag-Incentives Consortium, may add, change, improve, or update the information on the Ag-Incentives Website without notice. The Ag-Incentives Consortium reserves its exclusive right in its sole discretion to alter, limit or discontinue all or part of the Ag-Incentives Website. Under no circumstances shall the Ag-Incentives Consortium be liable for any loss, damage, liability or expense suffered which is claimed to result from use of the Ag-Incentives Website or Material contained therein, including without limitation, any fault, error, omission, interruption or delay. In particular, and without limitation, the Ag-Incentives Consortium disclaims all guarantees as to the compatibility of the Ag-Incentives Website with any hardware, operating system, web browser, or other means of accessing the Ag-Incentives Website. Use of the Ag-Incentives Website or any component thereof is at the User's sole risk.

We make every effort to minimize disruption caused by technical errors. However, some Material on the Ag-Incentives Website may have been created or structured in files or formats which are not error-free and we cannot guarantee that the Ag-Incentives Website will not be interrupted or otherwise affected by such problems. The Ag-Incentives Consortium accepts no responsibility with regard to such problems (failure of performance, computer virus, communication line failure, alteration of content, etc.) incurred as a result of using the Ag-Incentives Website or any link to external sites.

Translations provided by the Ag-Incentives Website are, unless otherwise noted, provided by real-time computer-generated translation from the original English text to either Spanish, French, or Chinese based on user selection of language at the top left-hand corner of the website. This service is provided to give the User a basic understanding of the content of the site. However, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of these translations. Furthermore, because the computer-generated translation is literal, the original meaning of content may sometimes be lost. If there are differences between the English content and any of the computer-generated translations, the English content should be taken to be definitive. The Ag-Incentives Consortium  and its member organizations decline all responsibility for the content of these computer-generated translations.

For site security purposes, and to ensure that the Ag-Incentives Website remains available to all Users, the Ag-Incentives Consortium employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage and to detect other possible security breaches.

The Ag-Incentives Website may contain advice, opinions and statements from external websites. Hyperlinks to non-Ag-Incentives internet sites do not imply any official endorsement of or responsibility for the opinions, ideas, data or products presented at these locations or guarantee the validity of the information provided. The sole purpose of links to other sites is to indicate further information available on related topics.

The mention of specific companies or certain products does not imply that they are endorsed or recommended by the Ag-Incentives Consortium or its member organizations in preference to others of a similar nature that are not mentioned.

Information contained on the Ag-Incentives Website does not imply the expression of any opinion whatsoever on the part of the Ag-Incentives Consortium or its member organizations concerning the legal status of any country or of its authorities. Its content and any data and maps included therein are without prejudice to the status of or sovereignty over any territory, to the delimitation of international frontiers and boundaries and to the name of any territory, city or area. In particular, with respect to information provided by the OECD:

OECD statistical data for Israel are supplied by and under the responsibility of the relevant Israeli authorities. The use of such data by the OECD is without prejudice to the status of the Golan Heights, East Jerusalem and Israeli settlements in the West Bank under the terms of international law.

Note by Turkey: The information in the documents with reference to “Cyprus” refers to the southern part of the Island. There is no single authority representing both Turkish and Greek Cypriot people on the Island. Turkey recognises the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Until a lasting and equitable solution is found within the context of the United Nations, Turkey shall preserve its position concerning the “Cyprus issue”.

Note by the European Union Member States of the OECD and the European Union: the Republic of Cyprus is recognised by all members of the United Nations with the exception of Turkey. The information in the documents relates to the area under the effective control of the Government of the Republic of Cyprus.

VI. Preservation of Immunities

Nothing herein shall constitute or be considered to be a limitation upon or a waiver of the privileges and immunities of the Ag-Incentives Consortium; its member organizations or of any related body or entity, which are specifically reserved.
